Stop 1 - La La Land

Los Angeles

We had a very smooth and comfortable flight on United and couldn't really fault them at all (apart from the accents - but they can't help that!). We had our business class seats, and whilst they were not flat beds, it was still fantastic and I managed to get a lot of sleep. Phil stayed up the whole time enjoying his whisky.

We arrived in LA, and after finding our way around the airport, we came outside to what was a very hot day. Our shuttle to the hotel in Anneheim was the Disneyland Express. It was hideous, with disney characters all over it and a recorded greeting and advertising blasting out of the stereo the whole 1 hour journey. There was no hiding the fact we were tourists.

We stayed at the Marriott just next to Disneyland. The hotel was great with a pool which we made use of as it was quite hot.

Day 2 - we headed off to Disneyland and explored the area. I was most dissapointed that I did not get to see Cinderella, Snow White, Daffey or Mickey Mouse. It was a great experience, however it was not as good as I had expected. Well at least I can say I have been to Disneyland.

What's with the toilets in the US. The water comes half way up the bowl, I'm always worried my bottom is going to touch the water. Poor Phil and I managed to block our toilet twice. It was most embarrasing having to have the maintenance man come and unblock it with his plunger. Now were we supposed to also tip the maintenance man. Aghhh - I hate tipping!

Time to leave LA, and we were held up and searched. We were put in a little glass box where everyone could see us, and touched up. I'm sure it was Phil's shifty looks....
