Wahhhh!

Wahhhhh! Missy is back from Hong Kong! (4 weeks ago)

Jim and I had a good flight to Honkers. Our pre-flight was fab as we got to sit in the Qantas Lounge and make the most of it. I had my champagne and Jim a scotch - mind you it was 9am in the morning. But hey - you don't get to live it up all that often.

Had a fabulous time. Mum and I did HEAPS of shopping and I was in heaven... Poor Jim followed us around from one shop to another - however, he refused to accompany us to Mongkok. Missy, missy loves Mongkok and loved haggling at the street stalls in the Ladies Market. Missy now has more Louis Vuitton hand bags to add to her collection. They real, they real! new model! real leather! good price!

It was great catching up with family also. My new nephew is very very very cute and the most beautiful baby in the whole world - of course! We also enjoyed spending lots of time with Lottie and we gave her parents some reprieve and had her sleep at our wonderful digs at Tsun Ning Court.

Tsun Ning Court - MMMm - we are growing to love the place. We arrived into our rooms (walking down the corridor - wallpaper hanging off the walls) only to have water dripping from the ceilings, floors damp and windows so fogged up you could not see the the street outside. We had so much condensation as the weather was so humid and hot outside. Nothing to do but switch the air con up to full. The air con unit is the old window rattlers and you can hardly hear each other speak over the noise. Well that was my room anyway. So - Jim got thrown out of his room into mine and I moved in with mum.

We couldn't cook in mums room as the range hood over the stove was dripping with water, and too dangerous to turn on. So cooking was done in my room with lots of cooking smells. However, it didn't bother me as I was staying in mums room.

The weather was hot and sultry - bring on summer in oz. I've actually got some colour - who would ever think of going to Hong Kong for a tan. It's quite funny though. I was sitting by the pool on a sun lounge in my swimming costume in Janine's apartment complex when a little boy was absolutely baffled at the fact I was sitting by the pool (in the shade mind you also). He asked his mother "why is that lady just lying there?". Dah! She is sunbathing. "why" Dah! getting a tan and reading a book relaxing. They hate the sun, not because of sun cancer, but so they can be white like westerners. Westerners go out in the sun to get tanned and get rid of their white skin.

Hmmmm!

Well Pics to follow soon. Haven't had a chance as very busy.

Anyhoo - We had a quick swim only to be kicked out as it was time to clean the pool (at 2pm in the afternoon!). You would think the pool would be cleaned in the morning or evening wouldn't you. Why it needs to be cleaned in the first place anyway is beyond us. You actually have to shower in the opulant bathroom as well as walk through a waterfall to get to the pool. However, for those of us who like to carry a bag and book etc, I was provided with an umbrella so I wouldn't get wet. Another thing - the pool is lucky to opened at all due to it always closing if so much as a cloud should pass overhead which means a thunderstorm warning.

Off to Hong Kong

I'm off to Hong Kong tomorrow to see my new little nephew. I'm looking forward to seeing my Charlottie. Oh - I'm also looking forward to seeing my sister and dear bro-in-law.

I'm hoping I can cope with the heat so mum and I can do heaps of shopping and hit the markets in Mongkok. My bag is literally empty - I have only a few items of clothing and the rest of the bag is filled with gifts for the baby and packets of mersyndol for Janine.

I've bought myself a new camera as I have taken an interest in photography (for now) and want to take lots of photos of the baby and Hong Kong life.

I'll have some pics to post when I get back. Then I need to book my next flights for our departure to Europe in September.
