Budget furniture

Well I felt the urge to buy some stools for my kitchen today - I took the truck on my own and went to Taren Point to get them. I didn't want to spend to much money so ventured to Fantastic Furniture - the name simply expresses what you'd imagine the stuff is like - anyhoo, the stools looked ok. I then went to Freedom Furniture in the hope of finding a bedroom dresser and a spare bed. I'm not joking - the quality of the crap they have in Freedom is even more so crap because of the ridiculous prices. I even had the the guy in the store saying it was crap for the price. I did however, walk away with some bathroom baskets and kitchen ware.

Anyhows - upon going to the Fantastic Furniture warehouse to collect my stool, I discovour one must assemble onself. The first small stool (I got 2 for $49) was fine - the second stool - no screws in the box! Aghhhh. The other 2 stools (2 for $199) far too complicated and I've left them in the hallway for Phil to do. He is a carpenter afterall. I can't understand why we need to assemble our own furniture. You know - you get so excited about purchasing an item and fulfiling that craving need to have something, you don't want to have to spend hours putting it together - you soon get over the whole therapy of shopping for it in the first place, as it then turns into a total nightmare where you need more therapy. Ahhh - what a great marketing strategy...

Anyway, maybe next week I might be able to sit on my stools and eat brekky.
