RETIRED AT 40!
Well it finally happened. Phil was made redundant last week. We were expecting it at some stage, but now the time finally has come.
Now is the best opportunity he has to do his flying. He will never be able to do building work again as he gets too much pain when heavy lifting is involved. So - back to having his nose in the books and study, study, study. His commercial licence has expired, so he has lots of work to get back up to date. He is booked for his Pilots medical, and then he will need to do some more flying.
It's funny how things work out. The timing has worked out well. I'm sure God is looking out for us and taking care of us. Our faith is constantly tested - but.... you must have patience. Good things come to those who wait.
The only bummer to all this though is - I need to keep working... Although, I do love the idea of having a house husband with delicious meals prepared when I come home from a hard day at work. All my washing is done and the house is clean. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful husband. He always looked good in his hard hat and nail bag - but he don't look too bad in an apron either. As Charlotte always says: "Phil's a hottie".. (yes she started saying this at 3 yrs of age). Well she is right.

Jordans 7th Birthday
It was my niece Jordan's 7th birthday party on Sunday. It was a gorgeous sunny day and I ate far too much food.
I ate all the muffin mix!
I'm curious!!! Phil and I were making muffins last night, and I find I just can't resist eating half the uncooked mix before it is spooned into the tin. This got me thinking - the mix tastes just so devine and heavenly when you scoope it up in a spoon and eat it and it can be a little sickly if you eat too much - however it tastes so different after baking.
This is my question - is there any difference when eating it baked and unbaked. Does our digestion treat it differently. Is eating it by the spoon full the equivalent to eating 5 muffins in one go?? Mmmmm. I wonder?

Australia Vs Uraguay
We enjoyed a night watching a friendly soccor match between Australia and Uraguay on Saturday night. Phil and I decided to make a weekend of it and stayed over night at the Novotel at Olympic Park. We only had to walk across the road to the stadium and had views from our room to Telstra Stadium. We had an absolute hoot of a time.

The game was not up to the world cup standard, but it was great to support some of the newcomers into soccor. We need the young guys so they can be groomed for the next world cup in South Africa.
Our friends met up with us in our room for drink before the game which made the night nice and relaxing. See all the pics below.

Inspirational Change
Most of us often have difficulty dealing with the inevitable changes that must occur in our day to day lives. It is amazing the amount of stress this can put on some people. I found this little quote from Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, a Yoga teacher of Yoga in Daily Life.
It is something worth thinking about...

Inspiration
“We hold onto the world because that's all we know. But the world is constantly changing, nothing is permanent. We can't hold onto things that are changing all the time.Let it be. Emotions change, concepts change, every seven years the whole body is completely new.The water drop falls on a leaf and slowly rolls off.The water drop says, either I'm on a leaf, in a lake or in the clouds, it doesn't matter, I know who I am.”
